A beautiful piece. Set up is complicated by the fact that the provided wood screws are not up to all the tasks for which they were provided. Specifically, the back support (U), which is supposed to draw several pieces (I,J,U) together for a flush fit. Holes are predrilled and some have plastic inserts for a good bite. The four holes in the center of (U) did not have inserts. I had to improvise and use four bolts to atach the the center of the support (U). The wood screws (M) would not attach in the center and just popped loose. The edges did hold and the screws are still holding. I would suggest using regular 1.5 inch drywall screws to afix the the left and right ends (F,E to I,J) of the back support, as again, the screws provided just pulled loose. The back support is a two or three person job. Once completed, this thing is absolutely stunning. Lots of compliments. Seems sturdy enough, but it is a challenge to assemble. Still, I’d buy it again….its that nice an addition.

I was very disappointed with this hall tree. First of all the color is not what I thought it would be. The photo online makes this hall tree look more white when in fact it is more of a creamy yellow in color. Then as I was opening the box and taking all the pieces out of the box I could tell I was not going to be happy with this item. Five of the pieces were already broken and glue was not going to fix this. The company did a horrible job packing and wrapping each piece to prevent the item from breaking. I sent it back and ordered another hall tree from another company which arrived in much better condition. Amazon did return this without any problem.

This piece of furniture is just too poorly built for its purpose. Within a short time of putting it up, two of the coat hooks were useless because the thin wood would not hold them. Not long after, the hinges on the bench top went wacky. At first you could still sort of strong-arm it into usability, but now it’s really just plain shot. Unable to put out more money to replace it, we’ve lived with it for a couple of years, but over and over I regret not spending maybe a little bit more to get something better made.

I am very pleased with this item. It’s exactly as pictured, sturdy, and has lots of room in the bench for hats, scarves, gloves and light jackets. Two people put it together in a few hours.
